Baby Race driver shows himself off in Sarno but progress slowed by technical problems.
Baby Race driver Luca Bosco was expected to be one of the top drivers in the OKJ category in the CIK FIA European Championship which started this weekend at Circuito Internazionale di Napoli – Sarno (SA). Before the start of the event, Bosco was very excited to attend the International championship for the first time in his career but the excitement changed to extreme focus once the engines were on. With great pace from the first free practice session, scoring 3rd overall, Bosco confirmed his talent in qualifying, again taking the third best lap in his session. Inspite of his efforts, Bosco ended the qualifying sessions 25th, although only 4 tenths behind the pole sitter Haverhort. In the four heats Bosco was able to score two great results (4th and 8th) but not able to finish higher than 14th and 17th in the other two due to technical problems. Bosco had to start the Final from the 10th row and, just after the red lights were off, he was forced off track by drivers pushing on from the back of the field. With no fear and plenty of braveness, Bosco started a great comeback but once again he was hit by another driver and forced down the grid again. Under the chequered flag Bosco ended 22nd, a very complicated and challenging race and a worse result then he deserved.
Luca Bosco: ”It’s a pity because the two bad heat results has compromised my start in the Final. It has been anyway a great experience even if there were too many accidents this time on track. We’ll see what will happen in Spain where i will be more experience then this first event.”
While awaiting the second round of the CIK FIA series, Bosco will attend the first round of the Italian Karting Champioship which will take place next week end at South Garda Circuit – Lonato (BS).
